Originally a farming community that was known as “Township 45,” Ladue consisted of farming families of Irish, French, German, and English descent. With the introduction of automobiles, farmers started to sell land to city workers looking for an escape from city living, and the small villages merged into what is now Ladue. Today, the area still honors its heritage as a great country estate location.
